That whole Fanboys mess is still going on. Probably the biggest news to me in all of this is that the film apparently doesn’t have a theatrical release date anymore. It kind of sounds like it might go straight to DVD, no? Really frakkin’ disappointing.

What happened here, anyway? And can we really say that geeks rule Hollywood if a movie about geeks can’t get a release date? And aren’t there enough people out there who would spend the ticket money just to see Kristen Bell in the Princess Leia outfit? I’m just saying. Darth Weinstein, take note.

For a change, my comics diet lately hasn’t been just pleasant regurgitation from the big two, but some actual new comics, with first issues and everything. Does this mean I have indie cred? Probably not–I still bag and board.

This time: Comic Book Comics, RASL, Nearly Infamous Zango, Criminal v2, and I think that’s probably about it, really.

In the post about Cutesy Chewie, Matt mentioned how unbelievably adorable Cutesy Lando is. I didn’t even know there was a Cutesy Lando! You better believe I looked that shit up immediately.

Check it out — tons more way-too-darling toys on the way. I need the Princess Leia. It’s sort of weird to see Yoda’s legs so…defined. He needs a robe or some palazzo pants or something.

I sorta glanced half-heartedly over at the whole Marvel_B0y blog controversy as it unfolded over the past few days. I saw that the LiveJournal had been taken down thanks to the mention in Lying in the Gutters, and I noted there were some potentially explosive spoilers in the comments of the dead journal, and I wished I’d not missed them, but I pretty much moved on.

Then this morning, I see Marvel_B0y has returned. So have the spoilers.

There are possible spoilers at those links for Marvel’s upcoming storylines, and I may even get into them below, so please do not click anyplace up in here if you don’t wanna be spoiled. Here endeth the warning.

Recently, me and my pal John Charles were both REALLY EXCITED about our new Chewbacca figures (caps indicate that our excitement was possibly greater than warranted). Upon hearing him describe his offbeat Chewie fig, there was a small moment where I thought maybe we got the same one. But, heh, no.

McQuarrie’s his, cutesy’s mine. Images courtesy of Brian’s Toys and Hasbro Toy Shop, where you can buy these fine figs. Which one would you want gazing down at you when you’re up against a deadline? No judgment — I’m really just asking!
