Dollhouse: Helo and That Guy From The TV Set
Mar 27Here’s our first shred of Dollhouse casting news. Scooping up Helo and his strangely hypnotic muscles was a fine move indeed, but I am almost equally excited about the casting of Fran Kranz as the show’s resident nerd. He was most recently on Welcome to the Captain, a sitcom that looked kind of like a parody of an actual sitcom, but you should all check him out in the 2006 flick The TV Set. If you love TV and know anything at all about how it’s made (or are curious to find out), you must watch this movie. It’s hilarious and insightful and Fran kills as a young actor who gets cast in a comedy pilot thanks to his hammy tendency to turn any line of dialogue into a potential catchphrase and the fact that one of the network execs is sure her daughter will love him. And the cast is stuffed with genre faces: Mulder, Ripley, Reed Richards, Deadly Girl. So go watch it and get a jump on a new potential Whedon fave.
