Lemme catch up here, with a special double dose, of 52 AND Shatner…
So things are really clicking into gear, eh?
There’s a tight momentum evolving for the series, thanks to a renewed focus on expanding storylines and fewer issues where it seems like all we do is hop from scene to scene randomly, inching forward plots and setting up payoffs that are many weeks away.
Now we’re getting payoffs, AND more setups, AND better art…and an evil Skeets.

Man, if they can pull this off–if this becomes even a fraction as fucked-up and weird and fun as it seems like it’s going to be–what a ride. The moment where Booster’s long-lost ancestor gets tossed into the time vortex and Skeets blurps “He knows” may be my favorite moment in comics this year.
Blah blah BLAH. Who gives a shit, right? You want your SHATNER. And you shall have it!
Much like this picture of Shatner, 52 is making sure to cover all the important areas, while still leaving a lot to be covered in the future. It’s definitely had some shocking surprises, and suggests the surprises are far from over. (Evil Skeets? Wow!)
