Not being a Heroes watcher, I can’t answer most of this effectively, although I guarantee you that the answer to question 2 is NOT c, because NOTHING is better than watching Nanny Carrie lose her shit.
Is that by chance the lead teacher from Boston Public standing portentiously with Claire in that pic? I’d love to see a Boston Public cast invasion on this show. Especially the dude who played the assistant principal, who fell in love with Kathy Bates with a hook arm.

Yes, that is Jessalyn Gilsig, aka the teacher David E. Kelley unceremoniously dumped from the show after hiring Seven of Nine. She also had a great run on Nip/Tuck. In Heroesland, she’s Claire’s superpowerd BioMom.
The hook-armed principal would be great as a new nemesis, someone who could give even Sylar a run for his money.
