Jun 09OK. So lots of Galactica debate this season about that last Cylon. Some of that debate revolves around…well, not who that Cylon is, but how on Earth said revelation can possibly be satisfying. Right?
So here’s my brilliant idea. Don’t make it someone in your existing cast of characters. Baltar? Wants it too bad. Starbuck? Played. Roslin? Obvious. Adama? Shock value, yawn. Lee? Oh, who cares? (He looks cute in his suit, though.) No, no! Instead, they should totally have a big contest and the winner gets to BE the final Cylon! Yes! The fans will get excited in a new and different way! Some lucky person gets a walk-on and the producers get a truly surprising plot twist! Everybody wins!
I’m thinking it should be something like a competition to see who can write the most inappropriate fanfic. Who’s with me?
I don’t know that encouraging BSG fanfic to become more inappropriate has any long-term value. Yes, short-term it would be fun.
Why not make Earth the final Cylon? You don’t need to pay an actor, and it’s such a massive WTF that it shock the complainers into muteness. Besides, we have a planet Green Lantern.
And then the Green Lantern planet and Cylon Planet fight! And after they fight, they have sex!
I win! I’m the final Cylon!
I think Fox Mulder is the final cylon. Quote me on that.
