Sigh.
Sigh.
Mar 25That whole Fanboys mess is still going on. Probably the biggest news to me in all of this is that the film apparently doesn’t have a theatrical release date anymore. It kind of sounds like it might go straight to DVD, no? Really frakkin’ disappointing.
What happened here, anyway? And can we really say that geeks rule Hollywood if a movie about geeks can’t get a release date? And aren’t there enough people out there who would spend the ticket money just to see Kristen Bell in the Princess Leia outfit? I’m just saying. Darth Weinstein, take note.

Moriarity over at Ain’t It Cool gave it a very mixed review…

On some level, doesn’t somebody realize the colossal fuck-up this movie has become, just from a release and marketing standpoint? If they hadn’t fucked around with it, the movie’d be out already, probably long since passed through theaters, and be doing a healthy business on DVD.
You know, I was just reading Wired’s sunshine-and-lollipops take on the movie, and I thought to myself, “There’s no way this is going to be legitimately good.”
