The Most Awesome Thing You'll Watch Today
Oct 01I bought my friend this awesome book for her birthday last weekend and it sparked a long dormant memory. One of the entries is for the great Brian Thompson, who I think of as The Judge from Buffy, the Alien Bounty Hunter in X-Files, and one of those guys you always see signing autographs at genre-related conventions. Anyway, many years ago, at one of my old workplaces, we stumbled across his official website, which contains his beyond-awesome demo reel. The best revelation from said reel? Brian Thompson is hilarious. Sure, he can do “menacing” along with the best of ’em, but I’d love to see him nab a good sitcom role. Me and the old workmates repeated the “I’ll have the linguine with sundried tomatoes…” line way more times than is probably healthy (and it’s one of those things that gets funnier and funnier with repetition).
Trivia – I contributed one entry to the HITG! website, but for obvious reasons (they wanted all the monies) it didn’t make it into the book (even though the actor did – so, they re-wrote my contribution to what was at the time a tiny, growing, Canadian endeavor. oh well.
