Sep 06So, the short version is that Lea Hernandez had her house burn down, leaving her family in a bit of a bind. It sounds like insurance will help them rebuild, but in the meantime they need to take care of the basics – food, shelter, shoes (for the love of god, shoes!), and Lea needs art supplies so she can work. At all levels, Lea needs to work.
So, house gone, some number of beloved pets lost, and two kids that are “special needs” (I don’t know what this means, but it’s special and there is need.) Lea has PayPal, which means if you’re a big fan (as our very own Sarah is) or just a big hearted person, contribute what you can. Even small amounts add up – look at it like this; five bucks is a really fancy schmancy art pencil.

I believe, and I hope I’m not speaking out of turn, that Lea’s son is autistic, and her daughter has ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder). Please, no comments about doctors’ diagnoses. Lea has posted often about health care and school employees treatment of her children as labels.
