May 22Comic-Con has just added a bunch of kick-ass guests. Recent awesome additions include Gail Simone, Kurt Busiek, Linda Medley, Amanda Conner and MORE! (What a completely adorable photo of Amanda Conner, too. Not that anyone else’s is not adorable, Amanda’s is just particularly adorable.)

Amanda Conner is EVIL!!! First, her JSA Classified #3 cover art in Previews made me buy and read a story about a character I hadn’t ever had the slightest desire to know. Then, the way she drew the story made me like the character. Then I read Infinitely-Many-Crossover-Titles-You-Hafta-Buy #2 for the rest of the story, only to find I once again couldn’t care less about the character without Amanda drawing her. Thanks a lot Amanda!!! (DC needs to wise up and put her back on Birds of Prey where she would be perfect with Gail Simone.)
is anyone else perennially creeped out by j. michael straczynski’s stock author photo? yeesh.
yeah, it’s scary. intense and wannabe cool at the same time. i love analyzing the author photos. linda medley’s is lovely and sort of olde-thymey. george perez looks so happy among the leafy green fronds!

i’m a big george perez fan, but did anyone read his recent interview on newsarama about the sachs & violens (sp?) miniseries being reprinted by DC? he basically admits he’s into some kinky stuff sexually. which is totally fine with me, but it’s not really the kind of thing I go to newsarama to read about. i prefer george perez’s bondage fetish to remain in the bedroom, where it belongs.
