Me? As usual, I think Greg Hatcher’s right, and anyone who’s paid any attention to the customer-facing machinations of DC over the last year or two probably knows exactly what Chuck Dixon’s talking about in the comments. None of Todd Allen’s candidates really unwrap my Twinkie, but maybe the secret one Heidi teases about will be revealed?
And now you know everything I do. Yes, literally EVERYTHING. Scary, isn’t it.

Jun 13A few relatively random links that have been gathering dust in my mailbox:
* We may finally have a new ride movie for Star Tours at Disneyland. I hope it involves Lucas chasing $100 bills.
* A great story from the Chicago Tribune on the closing of one of the oldest arcades in the region. I don’t remember this one in particular, but I was an occasional visitor to Friar Tuck’s in Calumet City, and our local Showbiz Pizza was of course a frequent favorite spot, back in the day when pizza arcades had mostly video games, and not ride-on toys and plastic ball pits.
There was also this fantastic arcade someplace in the northwestern suburbs where you could pay like $5 to get in, and play row after row of vintage arcade games for free. Maybe this is the arcade of which they write? Perhaps that place is long-since dead as well? I only made it up there a handful of times in college, but man, it was a trip.
* Cameron Stewart’s new graphic novel from Oni, The Apocalipstix (with writer Ray Fawkes), looks right up my alley.

Jun 12One of my Facebook friends just joined The Facebook Actor’s Registry. Is it just me, or does this immediately call to the nerd-inclined mind the Superhuman Registration Act and/or Mutant Registration Act?
I know, I know…this actor group is all about positive networking and not, like, keeping creepy big brother tabs on people so they can’t use their actor powers for evil. I mean, SUPPOSEDLY.

As mentioned previously, we here at Alert Nerd are putting together our second zine (hot on the heels of our first zine). And given the theme, we’re gunning to have it done in time for the San Diego Comic Con. That theme?
Secret Origins.
We have our cover design in mind – it will have a Twitter theme. And without giving away the hook, suffice to say we need Tweets. And while we could invent people and the things they Tweet, we figured, why not use yours. You guys are clever and are way more deserving of exposure than any imaginary dude or dudette (excepting the Muppets, who are imaginary and way cooler than all of us – face facts.)
So, it’s up to you if you’d like to help – you can simply reply in the comments, letting us rifle your tweet scroll for something neat. Or you can post a tweet giving us a heads up to use “the next one.” And it can say what ever you want (within 140 characters, obviously) – heck, put in a tiny URL if you want.
Also, while I have you on the line, we’re always looking for more articles, short stories, art, photos, etc… talk about your favorite comic shop owner, talk about your own personal super power, talk about whatever you want, provided you can someone how link it into two simple words;
