Nerd Musings
Oct 20
It’s been a crazy week, but I wanted to make a quick run down of teh awesome that immeadiately comes to mind.
1) Regardless what MSNBCs reviewer was whining about, Lost continues to mop up it’s loose ends.
2) The new Blade comics series – a given to buy, just for the involvement of Howard Chaykin – continues to impress. First, a Shield heli-carrier run by Shield Agent vampires. Now, Dr. Doom showing off that’s he’s a bad-add magician in the Marvel universe, not just the evil Iron Man.
3) I can’t stop listening to Wiid, off of MC Chris’ new album – Dungeon Master of Ceremonies. The whole album is a big step up for the nerd MC and his DJ sidekick, but Wiid is stuck in my head.

BSG Fix
Oct 17My new Galactica review is up at iPod Observer. I actually got to talk a tiny bit about clothes this week, thanks to Sharon’s beautiful, beautiful cream-colored jacket (which she somehow manages to keep spotless amidst the grimy atmosphere of New Caprica). This was exciting to me since I used to take up like half of my Buffy reviews with fashion-related chatter. It’s harder with BSG, though. How much can you really say about those dapper uniforms? Or Tigh’s ratty sweater-and-eye-bandage look? Or Six’s five million tube dresses?
Also, I noticed this week that Ms. McClure is back to being “Kandyse.” Good for her.
Hot Fuzz teasers
Oct 17We’re now officially close enough to next year’s release of Hot Fuzz (the new cop buddy comedy actioner by the makers of Shaun of the Dead) that teasers are now out. Hooray!
Oh, Thank Fucking God.
Oct 17Rick Berman speaks on the franchise:
“Without sounding clichéd I’m not going to say never, but I assume that I have produced my last Star Trek.”
Can we get that in writing, Rick?
Yellow card and a warning for Teh Internets
Oct 16Just when I thought I’d seen everything, and didn’t need to claw my eyes out;
Ghostbusters/House MD slash fiction.
Excuse me, while I go tear my baby blues out.
